Zhouzhuang, China

This canal city is about 32km out from Shanghai. Most of the buildings in the city date from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. I went in January so it was cold, but there weren`t so many tourists. It was so lovely - especially the short boat ride alond the canal whilst being serenaded with traditional Chinese songs of the area.
There are lots of old family houses to visit and even a fun house, and also a small outdoor opera stage. All in all a great days visit.
